Golden Wonder – Full on Flavour Snacks Launch

Golden Wonder, one of the most well known Crisp and Snack brands in the UK, is set to re-invigorate the category with the launch of a fantastic new range of Snacks. The launch is planned to hit the market in the spring and will be a welcome introduction to a category that has been crying out for new product innovation.

The re-introduction of Golden Wonder back in to mainstream distribution is part of the strategy developed by Tayto Group Ltd, the company that acquired the business back in 2006, to re-establish the brand as a serious competitor in the UK. Demand from consumers who are looking for a unique; full on flavour experience from a brand that they know (GB brand awareness for Golden Wonder is over 90%) has further endorsed this plan. Current sales on the brand are up by over 30%* compared to a category growth of 5%* which demonstrates the positive impact Golden Wonder can bring to the market.

The development of a new Golden Wonder Snacks range has centred on ensuring that the brand offers a One Stop Shop solution for all consumer needs. Along with a large selection of products; the range also includes a variety of pack sizes and price points positioned to target key consumption occasions. Much of the new range will offer increased value for money, with the introduction of bigger; better value packs. This was something that was seen as particularly important with the recent increase in VAT and a general greater level of cost consciousness. These elements will be brought together under a new creative execution that reaches out to consumers and shouts about the new Golden Wonder family of Snacks. The new design will be seen across all packs and outer cases as well as on point of sale that will be introduced to support the launch.

The new range combines some of the best selling lines from the Tayto Group portfolio; these include names such as Tangy Toms and Spicy Bikers that will be re-housed under the much loved Golden Wonder name; and also the launch of some new and exciting products such as Dinos. The launch will also include a complete overhaul of the Ringos range which will include an impactful new design and also development of the product to take it back to the original, playful, tongue tingling characteristics. Ringos is a real retro brand that has provided endless fun for many consumers through both their childhood and adult lives. It is this affection for the brand that has driven Golden Wonder to bring it back to the forefront of their new Snacks portfolio with an aim to get Ringos back to the levels that it experienced in its heady days of success.

Along with the new Snacks range the Golden Wonder portfolio includes an extensive selection of Flat Crisps in both single and multipack formats and the great tasting Golden Lights positioned in the Healthier Snacks sector.
