Tayto Group – owners of Golden Wonder – is the largest British-owned crisp and snack
manufacturer, producing over 5 million bags a day across our seven UK sites.

Family-owned, our passion is for giving you great quality snacks
from a company who cares.

OUR PARTNERS & GROWERS

We are proud to use 100% UK and Irish potatoes – supporting British farming jobs and supply chains.

In order to maintain our reputation and the trust of our customers and partners – we demand and maintain the highest ethical standards in carrying out our business activities.

We believe in making life better for our growers and members of our supply chain, and in paying fair prices and encouraging healthy working conditions.

We deliver Stronger Together training to all our staff – so we can identify and avoid any incidences of modern slavery (forced labour, labour trafficking and hidden exploitation of workers).

We are a member of Sedex – a world-leading ethical trade service provider for global auditing visibility.

We expect the same vigilance and sense of responsibility from all partners that we work with.

THE ENVIRONMENT

Tayto Group is proud to have won Environmental awards every year since 2011. Water is life… Over the last two years, we have invested £1.2m in water and waste-water technology across our sites.

We rely on vehicles to get our products where they need to be so, to reduce their impact on the environment, we invested £720k in 2018 changing our NI HGV fleet from Euro 5 to Euro 6 to reduce Nitrogen Oxide emissions. Electric vehicles were introduced back in in 2014 for our company car fleet and forklifts – and we’ve also installed electric charging points at our sites.
Our card materials are made from over 99.5% recycled material and all are 100% recyclable.

Plastic is a hot topic and so we’re doing our part to reduce how much we use and make it easier to recycle, take a look at:

DELIVERING HIGHEST QUALITY PRODUCTS

We go the extra mile every day to make the best snacks in the best way possible. We ONLY use UK and Irish potatoes – known for their excellent quality – thereby supporting British farming jobs and supply chains.

Our GB potato crops are produced and audited to Red Tractor Standards – which is only found on British food and drink products that have been certified to rigorous standards from farms to pack. This means they have been responsibly sourced, safely produced and well cared for – good for our customers and good for British farmers too!

OUR COMMUNITY

We have worked closely with Marie Curie for the past 10 years and in that time have raised over £200,000 through many initiatives including a bespoke ‘Springtime’ flavoured crisps pack (with all proceeds going to them), collection boxes at all major Northern Ireland Tayto sponsored events, street collections supporting their March Daffodil Appeal and through partnerships with Henderson’s Spar.

We regularly share #TaytoHappy moments with product donations supporting many different charity events and initiatives.

We also support schools, universities, community groups and food banks within the UK and Northern Ireland.

During the first phase of COVID we donated over 100,000 packets of crisps to the NI Ambulance Service, St John Ambulance, all NI Hospitals and community support groups.

OUR TEAM

We’re really proud that we have some very long-standing team members – some have been with us for over 45 years! We believe that happy, fulfilled staff members are our strength. We prioritise self-development and encourage our employees to gain knowledge and new skills to benefit their roles – and them personally. We have invested in e-learning – which is available to all of our colleagues and offers them over 100 courses which they can access anywhere, anytime.

The youth are our future, so we see our apprenticeship scheme as a way to develop talented individuals – especially those from our local communities.

OUR CUSTOMERS

We value the loyal support we’ve had from our customers since William Alexander first launched Golden Wonder in 1947. We know this support is based on trust in our products and in us as a company.

We do all we can to live up to this trust by ensuring our products are of the best quality and by upholding our ethics with openness and transparency.

We love to hear from our customers!
